'Saurs and speedsters, oh my.
Synopsis
[edit]This book recounts the events of "Blast from the Past" and "Nanosec", through the use of cartoon screen captures arranged in comic book style panels.
Notes
[edit]- This issue does not have nearly as many "low-rez" screen grabs as the previous issue.
Blast from the Past
[edit]- One shot of Megatron's head is used four times during the initial "awakening" conversation between Megatron and Isaac Sumdac. Three of them are on consecutive pages, and the final two are consecutive panels.
- Prowl's Awesome Ninja Move on the island where he flips and catches a leaf to demonstrate grace to Bulkhead is not actually shown... just described in a caption. No, really. So is the tree falling on him immediately after... we see Bulkhead hit a tree, and the next panel, they've fallen, with a caption noting they fell.
- Another shot of Megatron's head is used three times during his conversation with the Dinobots, and this time all three are on the same page. Actually, the shot is used five times through the conversation, but the last two are different frames from the same shot, one with his right eye all squinty and glowy, the other all squinty and not-glowy. Each shot is used on a separate page.
Nanosec
[edit]- The conversation between Megatron and Isaac in this part has some mis-ordered panels. Isaac is reacting with shock two panels before Megatron's outburst of "Unacceptable!".
- The same shot of the speed-suit technician zipping uncontrollably around the test track is used in two consecutive panels, within only an added sound effect to differentiate them.
- When Optimus Prime rejoins the Autobots after being run over by Bumblebee, he's clearly supposed to be saying something in his "appearance" panel, but there's no text balloon. This leaves Ratchet's cry of "There's no time!" in the next panel as something of a non-sequitur.
- A caption states that Bumblebee is moving at 180mph during his final chase with Nanosec.
- Captain Fanzone gets a few slightly out-of-character lines in the news item showing Nanosec's arrest; "Thanks, Autobots! You really saved the day!"
Trivia
[edit]- Original solicitations for this volume had an image of Earth-mode Megatron on a gray backdrop as the cover.
