Victory Leo turns the tide of battle as Jan's past is revealed!

Synopsis

[edit]

On the battlefield, Star Saber has fallen before the combined might of Deathsaurus, Dinoking and Liokaiser. Jan begs Solon to stop the Decepticons, but he refuses, instead encouraging his Emperor of Destruction to finish Star Saber off.

Before the Decepticons can cut him to ribbons, they are interrupted by the arrival of a new Autobot warrior and a mysterious young woman in battle armor. The Autobot transforms and introduces himself as Victory Leo. Deathsaurus attempts to kill him with his Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon, only to have his blast bounce off Victory Leo's gurunium armor.

Elsewhere, the young woman introduces herself to Jan as Patty, his sister. As Jan is left reeling, Patty encourages Star Saber to find the strength to combine with Victory Leo. Star Saber and Victory Leo form the Victory Combination and become Victory Saber. Victory Saber sends the Decepticons packing with his "Flash Victory" attack.

Then the cavalry (Road Caesar, Landcross, Cab and Shūta) arrives, late as usual. Patty introduces herself to Cab and Shūta and then proceeds to explain the fate of their parents and her own past to Jan.

Their late father was a famed mineralogist who discovered a rare and powerful energy ore called gurunium. The gurunium was used to build Victory Leo and is in fact what makes the Victory Combination possible.

Victory Saber remarks that he feels as if he has the strength of a hundred Autobots and thanks Patty for her assistance. Just overhead, Solon makes his escape on Eaglebreast, amused that the Autobots needed a girl to rescue them.

Notes

[edit]
  • Absolutely no connection is made between Victory Leo and God Ginrai, so it would seem to be that, unlike in the Victory cartoon, they are completely separate characters in this continuity.
  • It seems strange that, despite both Patty and Jan being closely affiliated with the Autobots, this is the first time they'd met since their parents' deaths many years ago (and, indeed, the first time Jan learns that he even has a sister). Autobot communication systems must be terribly poor.
  • Now that Patty's on the payroll, the Victories never again refer to themselves as "the Autobot Boy Team" (for obvious reasons).
