- Abner is a human from the Hearts of Steel portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Abner is a member of the United States military. He likes cigars.
Fiction
[edit]Hearts of Steel
[edit]Abner and Dodd were part of a military unit tasked to protect a federal cash shipment travelling on train from Denver to California. While chatting with Dodd about the fortune contained within the train, Abner lit a cigar, which prompted a superior to chastise him, stating that they were running "dark" for security. Tossing the cigar, Abner ridiculed the concept of anybody attacking the heavily guarded train. Soon afterward, the train was attacked by the Insecticons' locomotive mode. All of the troops were flung aside.
On the ground, Abner noted that the attacking locomotive was "breaking apart", only to be corrected by Dodd. Hearts of Steel #2
"Strange Visitors" establishes that events identical to those of Hearts of Steel and Infestation 2 occur in the 2005 IDW continuity; however, they happened to Maximal explorers brainwashed by Shockwave into believing they were the Autobots and Decepticons of the Great War.
