However, its presence as a weapon given as a gift by the Autobots contradicts information in the film, where Seymour Simmons alludes that the rail gun was developed by Sector Seven based on studies of Megatron. Also, Optimus Prime had flat-out refused to share weapons technology with Humanity because he could not trust them enough to use it properly, and had seen their scale and extent of their wars.
