GONZO (株式会社ゴンゾ Kabushiki Gaisha Gonzo) is the Japanese animation studio that produced the Cybertron/Galaxy Force cartoon together with Sunwoo Entertainment and the 2D effects animation for two episodes of Robots in Disguise. Anime they have worked on include Blue Submarine No. 6, Gantz, the first anime adaptation of Hellsing, Basilisk, Full Metal Panic, Chrono Crusade, Last Exile, Last Exile: Fam, The Silver Wing, Trinity Blood and the first season of Strike Witches.
Some of their work on foreign productions include G.I. Joe Sigma Six and Afro Samurai.
In 2009, GONZO suffered from heavy losses and went through restructuring, laying off 20% of its workforce and selling off their CGI division, which would gain a new life as Graphinica. However it managed to climb out of the red and returned to profitability in 2010.
