Nemesis Breaker is a Decepticon from the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

Nemesis Breaker says, "Rarrr!" That's because he's a sparkless creature of rage, seemingly nothing more than a physical manifestation of Megatron's power and hatred, as well as Leobreaker's jealousy over Optimus Prime's usage of Wing Saber as his new combining partner.

When Megatron returned after his defeat in the fire dimension, he was little more than a ghost surrounded by black fog, part of Unicron's shadow spark. As he recreated himself, Megatron also used the remnants of his new-found shadow power to ensnare Leobreaker. His shadow force bled off from the Autobot and took form, creating Nemesis Breaker, an evil clone forged from Leobreaker's primal rage and base animal instincts. Megatron and Nemesis Breaker tricked Prime into believing they desired a final one-on-one battle. Instead, the Decepticons pulled out at the last moment and sped off towards the now-towering Omega Lock. Darkness

As the Decepticons approached the Omega Lock, Nemesis Breaker eagerly ran alongside his master. The Autobots intercepted them, but combining into Dark Claw Mode for his master was almost as fulfilling. Memory And continuing to serve as his master's arm was even more enjoyable! Gray Cat Strut. (Hasbro version pictured)
  • Nemesis Breaker (Voyager Class, 2005 / 2006)
  • Takara name: Dark Ligerjack (ダークライガージャック)
  • Takara ID number: EX-01
  • Takara release date: 2005 August 25
  • Accessories: Tail/whip, Jungle Planet Cyber Key
  • Cyber Key Code: v6f5
  • Known designers: Marcelo Matere (packaging artist)
A redeco of Cybertron Leobreaker in the by-now-standard-for-evil-clones scheme of black and dark gray with turquoise trim, Nemesis Breaker transforms into a robotic lion with electronic sounds. Plugging a Cyber Key into each of his forelegs/forearms flips down a pair of claws. He can also form something resembling a clawed arm that can be attached to the Cybertron Leader-Class Optimus Prime and Megatron molds, though he matches visually the most with Galvatron.
The Takara Galaxy Force version of "Dark Ligerjack" was released first, as a Toys"R"Us exclusive in 2005. (It was originally solicited as a normal retail release with the ID number "GD-14", but supposedly, low sales of Galaxy Force forced several larger show-toys into being exclusives.) The Hasbro version was released at normal retail in the sixth wave of Voyagers (the only new toy in that wave) with numerous small paint application changes, most notably the Decepticon-sigil "tattoo" being on both his right and left shoulders, instead of just his right shoulder on the Hasbro version, so it is more prominent in his normal configuration as Megatron/Galvatron's left arm, and a Cyber Key Code stamped on the back of his Cyber Key.
This mold was also used to make Universe Leo Prime and BotCon 2009 Razorclaw.

Notes

[edit]
  • The television CGI model of Nemesis Breaker used during the combiner sequence animation, as well as the representation of the combined arm mode is based upon a modified version of one of the original prototypes of Leobreaker, who had a much more complex and believable "arm mode".
  • Although Nemesis Breaker is just a redeco of Leobreaker, he gets entirely new stock footage for his transformation into Dark Claw Mode. Interestingly, he transforms in the reverse way as Leobreaker-his lower body folds up before his upper body, his arms detach one at a time, and he replaces Megatron's left arm (as opposed to Leobreaker usually attaching to Optimus Prime's right side).
  • Like his template, Leobreaker, Nemesis Breaker has three claws per arm in robot and beast modes, but only two per arm in Dark Claw Mode.
