Hi, I'm also active as Alienbot on TFW2005. I've written a few fanfics there about Megatron Starscream and Soundwave
Hi, my name is Chris, and I wrote several Transformers-related articles during my time at Multiversity Comics.

Personal canon
I'm still writing about Transformers FWIW:
Before time began, there was the All Spark Cube. It created the planet Cybertron, and life evolved from the energon radiation that emanated and pooled around the Cube. A powerful telekinetic race known as the Primes led the newly emerged autonomous robotic organisms. They determined similar characteristics in solar energy to energon, and arrived on a planet called Earth to build a solar harvester to recharge the Cube if its power waned Defiance issue 4 around 17,000 BC. However, six of the Primes took pity on the carbon-based lifeforms on the planet, particularly seeing potential for a similar emotional and intellectual range in bipedal primates later known as humans.

One Prime however, seeming possessed, did not care and was ready to activate the device: civil war erupted, and the Matrix of Leadership that was created by the Cube Revenge of the Fallen (novel) to power the harvester was stolen from the Fallen Prime. The others sacrificed their bodies to form a Tomb to hide the Matrix. The Fallen returned to Cybertron to slaughter the children of the Primes, save one who was hidden from him. Revenge of the Fallen (novel) During the war, The Fallen commissioned the Seekers to return to Earth to find the Matrix, but futile searching prompted their leader Jetfire to defect and the Fallen to abandon them. As years passed, and the exhausted Fallen withered on his ship, the Autobots established a powerful, peaceful and just Empire on Cybertron. Knowledge of the Primes was lost since no one recorded this information, relying on the All Spark's memory. The hidden Prime Optimus grew up believing his brother was Lord Megatron. He led the Science Division while Megatron became commander of the Defense Force.
* Just Imagine: The TRANSFORMERS ONE sequel we'll never get

Megatron discovered the Fallen, who enraptured him with his martial philosophies and promised him the powers of a Prime: Revenge of the Fallen (novel) Megatron became the new leader of the Decepticons, and attempted to claim the Cube so he could sustain his army and replenish his master's power. Optimus discovered he was a Prime when the symbol on his head was identified as their family crest, and became the inspiring leader of the Autobots. Defiance issue 3 Cybertron was ruined, the adoptive father of Optimus was slaughtered by his own son, Transformers Autobots/Decepticons Optimus launched the Cube into space for its own good, Movie Prequel issue 1 and so the war spread across the universe as the Autobots and Decepticons searched every world for it. Because it was drawn to the harvester, Defiance issue 4 the Cube landed in the Colorado River around 10,000 BC. Megatron realized this and hunted down the Cube by himself, but crashed and froze in the Arctic.
And I had work published about Transformers before that:

Archibald Witwicky found Megatron in 1897 AD, and in desperation he blasted the coordinates to the Cube's location onto his glasses, resulting in Witwicky going insane and hallucinating Cyberglyphics. The US government investigated his story and found Megatron and the Cube. President Hoover founded Sector Seven, which built the Hoover Dam to mask the Cube's energy, and conducted energon experiments to give their devices life (though this unnatural life only created beasts the Autobots had always feared Megatron would create). One experiment caused the Three Mile Island accident. Movie Prequel issue 4 They studied Megatron to build the Ghost 1 in 1969, which alerted the Transformers to Earth. S7 also moved Megatron to the Dam, and he became briefly active. Ghosts of Yesterday They also started planning a rail gun. Revenge of the Fallen (novel) All the while, they ignored evidence of the Seekers dotted around the planet in stasis lock. The Cube's former guardian Defiance issue 1 Bumblebee was sent to Earth, while Starscream's unit arrived on Mars in 2003, destroying the Beagle 2 Rover. Movie Prequel issue 3

The United States military allied with the Autobots during the attack in Mission City, and they joined with other national miltaries in a group called NEST to replace S7. It was agreed to continue official government word on the Transformers' existence silent. The Cube was destroyed, and a remaining fragment was kept at Diego Garcia, while a stasis locked Megatron was buried in the Laurentian Abyss. The Fallen appointed Starscream his steward, and decreed he breed the next generation of Decepticons, who were dying without an energon source. Soundwave sent more Decepticons to Earth, many of whom were intercepted and killed by NEST, and set a watch on Sam Witwicky. NEST counteracted six Decepticon incursions alone in the first half of 2009. Optimus began recording their history in a series of messages.

Hi, my name is Chris, and I wrote several Transformers-related articles during my time at Multiversity Comics.

I'm still writing about Transformers FWIW:

And I had work published about Transformers before that:

Transformers I would like

[edit]
 • G1 comics Ratchet (complete with realistic ambulance alt mode)
 • Animated season four Ironhide, or something like it
 • MTMTE Hot Rod
 • MTMTE Cyclonus
 • Deluxe Rung
 • Victorion
 • Nautica

Surprisingly many thoughts about the Thirteen

[edit]

I like the Thirteen, who've got me back into collecting the toys, as I'm a big Lord of the Rings fan; it's nice Transformers effectively has its own take on the Valar, and Megatronus and Solus Prime have huge Sauron/Galadriel energy. (Although I still imagine them being voiced by Virginia Madsen, and the late, great Tony Todd.)

I used to think Omegatron should've have been the name of the Fallen, until I saw Transformers One, and realised it's much easier for a kid to understand how Megatron would be derived from Megatronus.

Like many, I'm not a fan of the idea of Optimus being the Thirteenth Prime. I think IDW '05 did well with the concept, but given how different their cosmology was, it really was an exception that proves the rule. (While on the subject: I think it would've absolutely made sense for the Quintessons to be the Transformers' creators in that continuity, especially with how it skewed older.) If I were overseeing my own Transformers series, I'd pick between the following instead:

 • Rung, bringing them full circle
 • Rodimus Prime, further preventing the implication a Prime is simply the best because he's a reincarnation
 • Nova Prime, although like Zeta and Sentinel, I still see him as an interim Prime (also Nova would lie about being the Thirteenth)
 • Solomus/Tyrest, who is a member of the Thirteen in the pre-Aligned continuities now. However, I think it'd be more interesting to treat the Guiding Hand as Primus's fellow Light Gods.
 • Omega Supreme, who's certainly old enough, though like Optimus, the character deserves better than the baggage of being an original Prime.
 • Last Autobot, another official member of the pre-Aligned Thirteen, who's basically what Omega should've been. I think it would make a lot of sense, if only because it would completely explain his absence.

I wrote this before I read the notes on the Thirteenth's page, where it becomes apparent Hasbro simply forgot about or weren't aware of the Last Autobot when creating the group, so he may've been them if they had been.

In any case, it would be nice if AOTP (or the next toy line) included alternate Primes, including a rerelease of the transforming Ark as the Last Autobot, as well as the Legacy version of Alpha Trion.
