CRA-SHING THROUGH THE SKY/COMES THE FEARFUL CRY

Various humans strolling around the Statue of Liberty reacted in terror and fled as earth tremors shook the ground, the result of Megatron's Solar Needle piercing Earth's sun. Changing Gears

When the Autobots developed the anti-rust chemical corrostop, they planned to cover all of Earth's monuments with it, starting with the Statue of Liberty. Fireflight initially mistook Lady Liberty for a "non-functioning old robot", but was quickly corrected by Skydive.

The Autobots later needed some corrostop to halt an outbreak of Cosmic Rust in their ranks, so they went to scrape some off the Statue of Liberty. Megatron didn't take kindly to hearing about this, and sent Menasor to destroy the entire statue with the Lightning Bug. A battle broke out around the Statue of Liberty, which ended with the Autobots saving it, and by extension, themselves. Cosmic Rust
