Fiction
[edit]The Transformers cartoon
[edit]- Voice actor: Keiichi Nanba (Japanese)

When the Junkions attacked the Autobots stranded on their planet, Rubbish worked with Re-Cycle to capture Blurr. Keeping up at the Autobot's left side, he fastened a net thrown over the Autobot by his partner on the other flank. Blurr broke through the net, but this didn't discourage either of his attackers, or the rest of their tribe.
As another wave of Junkions burst out of the surface of their planet, (another?) Rubbish was among them.
Fortunately for the Autobots, Hot Rod's party found its way to the battle, and Rubbish watched as their group emerged from their shuttle. Hot Rod offered the universal greeting and an energon goodie to the Junkions, which convinced them that the Autobots were not enemies. The two groups spontaneously began to celebrate their newly formed alliance, after which, to return the feelings of goodwill, the Junkions offered to restore Ultra Magnus to life. Rubbish was part of the group which brought together his remains for repairs. The Transformers: The Movie
Beast Wars: Uprising
[edit]By the 24th century, a scrapyard in Hexima was named for Rubbish. Buckethead used it as training grounds for her new Constructicon recruits after the Grand Uprising. The Inexorable March
Notes
[edit]
- Rubbish was never named in any fiction; his name (and the names of many other Junkions) comes from character designer's notes, revealed in Transformers: The Complete Ark.
- Rubbish's character model features the same arms as Scrapheap and Trashbin, and features an entirely new leg and head design. He also uses the same torso design as Re-Cycle and Scrapheap, the only difference being the added wheel in the center.
- Rubbish is one of the few Junkions who don't seem to appear onscreen more than one at a time, even though narratively there must be two of him since one of him bursts out of the ground while the first one was already out and about. But like Clark Kent and Superman, they're never seen in the same place at the same time.
- One of the Reveal the Shield Wreck-Gar figure's two alternate headsculpts appears to be based on Rubbish's character model, although in practice, that tooling has only been used for a pair of Scrapheap toys and Shattered Glass Scrap Iron.
