- The Autobot Rest Stop is a cunning trap from the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Autobot Rest Stop appears, for all intents and purposes, to be a service provided by humans—a place where weary Autobots can stop and rest their tires on pillows. However the Autobot Rest Stop hides a secret! It's not a restful pit stop at all, but a Decepticon trap!

[edit]Thundercracker had an idea—he led the other Decepticons to a junk yard, where they swiped a car crusher which they intended to use on the Autobots. Ravage came up with the bright idea of disguising it as a pit stop, and thus the Autobot Rest Stop was born! Spying Gears towing a trailer of potatoes, Soundwave set up a detour sign, to divert the Autobot straight to the Rest Stop. Sure enough, Gears took the bait, and drove right up into the car crusher. He was promptly crushed flat, much to the Decepticons' amusement.
Of course, they didn't get a chance to use it again, as the Autobots picked that point to descend on them and give them a thrashing. Ratchet subsequently unsmooshed Gears, and that was the end of the affair. The Autobot Smasher!
