| The name or term "David" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see David (disambiguation). |

Dave Edwards, better known by the screenname Zobovor, is a longtime American member of the Transformers fandom, primarily active on alt.toys.transformers. He worked with Rhino Entertainment on their release of the original The Transformers cartoon on DVD in 2002 and is given "special thanks" in the credits.
Edwards was the first fan known to document Gold Plastic Syndrome,[1] though the specific term appears to have been coined by another fan, "Sky Shadow".[2] Edwards' site, started in 1998, includes the first online cataloging of errors and other oddities in the Generation 1 cartoon.[3] He regards the occasional coloring errors in that show as representing new characters and has kitbashed many of them as toys.
As a joke, Edwards created fake "scans" of a catalog showing early Beast Wars toys with Generation 1 character names.[4] These were somehow picked up by Shout! Factory and erroneously used in the extras of their Beast Wars DVD set.[5] Some fans were fooled, and speculation ensued as to whether these were actual pre-production names or merely placeholders,[6] before Edwards saw the images on the DVD himself and explained their origin.[7]
