Diveplane is a Mini-Con from the Unicron Trilogy continuity family or a Decepticon from the Generation 1 continuity family (via the 2010 Transformers toyline).
Close, but no ci...submarine.

Diveplane transforms into a brown submarine. Sometimes she is a Mini-Con and a member of the Special Operations Team with Reachout and Airlift; other times she is a Micromaster.

Fiction

[edit]

Ask Vector Prime

[edit]

Vector Prime first noticed Diveplane in Aurex 503.01 Gamma, but noted that a Micromaster version of her existed in Primax 215.19 Epsilon, and at least some of her compatriots existed as full-sized Autobots and Decepticons in Primax 1005.19 Gamma. Ask Vector Prime, 24 July 2015

Beast Wars: Uprising

[edit]

Diveplane served Banzai-Tron in the Builders' Navy during the Grand Uprising. They defended the Great Rust Sea from the Resistance Navy, trying to blockade the Yuss Straits to prevent maritime access to Iacon. Diveplane and the Deep Sea Patrol coordinated their underwater attacks with Banzai-Tron's traditional naval engagement. Unfortunately, the Beast Upgrade made the Resistance adapted to underwater combat in ways a mere submarine alt mode could not. A collection of oxide sharks, m-rays, and warwhales destroyed 95% of the Builders' subsea Micromasters. Diveplane was drained and cracked open like a lobster by Claw Jaw. Derailment

Toys

[edit]

Transformers (2010)

[edit]
  • Minicon 8 Pack (Multi-pack, 2010)
Transformers Diveplane is a redeco of Cybertron Deepdive, transforming into a submarine. Diveplane's mold is one of the few Mini-Con molds that actually has a Powerlinx plug as well as a socket.
Diveplane was only available as part of the European-market exclusive "Minicon 8 Pack" box set with Buckshot, Ironside, Barrel Roll, Iron Claw, Airlift, Heavy-Liftor, and Reachout.
This mold was also used to make Astro-Sinker and Seawave.

Notes

[edit]
  • The Minicon [sic] 8 Pack gives no indication whatsoever what continuity these eight Mini-Cons hail from. In 2015, the Facebook version of Ask Vector Prime simultaneously established the pack members as Unicron Trilogy Mini-Cons and Generation 1 sometimes-Micromasters.
  • The front of the packaging alternately renders her name as Dive Plane. We go with "Diveplane" since that's how it's spelled on both the back and the side of the packaging. Outvoted!
  • The stock photography for Diveplane shows her with a silver-painted Powerlinx plug. The final product leaves this part unpainted, because obviously, that really, really wouldn't work.
  • With no prose bio, Diveplane's gender was ambiguous until Beast Wars: Uprising made Diveplane female.
