Starscream battles Space Case.
Synopsis
[edit]At the Decepticon camp in Namibia, Megatron makes it very clear to Starscream, by way of a beating, that he does not appreciate being told how to do his job. Tired of endlessly submitting to the Decepticon leader, Starscream snaps, and flies off with the intention of starting his own 'New Decepticon Empire'.
When he detects a Cybertronian energy signature, Starscream pursues and sees a shape plummet into the sea next to an amusement park on the pier. The shape is Space Case, who, tired of "bein' pushed around", immediately attacks Starscream, punching him into a Ferris wheel. Starscream hauls himself up and opens fire on Space Case, but quickly realises the identity of the rogue Decepticon. Realizing that Space Case is stupid enough to manipulate, Starscream reverts his insults and starts to lay on the compliments, hoping to recruit him as the first soldier in his new army. With his promised reward for Space Case's loyalty being the Earth, he eventually succeeds, and as the sun sets, they walk away from the ruined pier, Starscream now having found a partner who would listen to his thoughts, for once.

[edit]Notes
[edit]- The comic comes free with Target's exclusive Dark of the Moon Cyberglyphics-themed redeco of Starscream.
- Alex Milne "movies-up" Space Case's design, changing most of his components in one way or another... despite Space Case's toy already having been designed with movie aesthetics in mind.
- When Space Case is thrown into a carnival stall, several stuffed toys are seen flying out. One of them looks like Generation 1 Ultra Magnus.
Errors
[edit]- While Space Case states, "These runes on my armor protect me!" at one point, he is never actually drawn with runes on his armor at any point.
- Speaking of which, Starscream's runes are incredibly inconsistent. They're present for the first three pages, absent for most of four and five, back on six, gone on seven, strangely roughed out on eight, then finally back on nine. The runes are also absent on the cover.
- When Starscream tells Space Case that he's looking for a partner, he tells him that he wants "Somebody who gets thing done."
