Packaged alongside the MC Axis resin model kits in 1996 came a series of one-page The Transformers comic strips, written and drawn by Hidetsugu Yoshioka. One comic was packaged with the Arcee model, one came with the Elita One model and a third was included with the Hot Rod model.
These comics feature a few oddities. Firstly, despite being released exclusively in Japan, they read from left to right like an American comic (something typical of Yoshioka) and are even written in English. Secondly, Yoshioka includes a drawing of Optimus Prime's head down by the assembly instructions. For some odd reason, he is drawn in his Marvel Comics Powermaster design.

Meanwhile, a pensive Elita One realizes that although they talk tough, they are actually worn-out. She wonders when Optimus Prime will return and end the war for good.
Though they talk that way, they are worn out--What are you doing OP? Finish this war prease--IMMEDIATELY!
