*Laserbeak and Buzzsaw presumably derived their Earth condor modes from the same transmissions as Razorclaw, Rampage and Divebomb, though why they would choose such a form as their primary mode remains a mystery.
* In "Shattered Expectations", Laserbeak's body is based on Energon Divebomb (a body also used to make "Dawn of Future's Past" Laserbeak), with the colors of Armada Laserbeak.
* It is entirely possible that Laserbeak is actually using Ramhorn's colors.
* His appearances in Fun Publications' main stories use a more traditional body design. He probably uses G1 Ramhorn's colors, with Buzzsaw taking those of G1 Steeljaw.
* In "Shattered Expectations", Laserbeak's body is based on Energon Divebomb (a body also used to make "Dawn of Future's Past" Laserbeak), with the colors of Armada Laserbeak.

*In the Recordicons comics, Laserbeak is portrayed as a "hipster" claiming his music is too obscure for Ravage to have known about. It turns out that Ravage is quite good friends with Rosanna, she even follows his Yatter feed. Dismayed, Laserbeak vows to only enjoy her music ironically from now on.
* Laserbeak's appearance in the IDW comic specifically riffs on his Armada counterpart, sharing the latter's friendship with his native Flashbox.

Shattered Expectations

[edit]
Ironically, he's scarier than his G1 counterpart.

As part of the Mayhem Suppression Squad, Laserbeak responded to a signal sent by Razorclaw, leaping out of Astrotrain while spewing fire at the Autobots Jazz, Grimlock, and Goldbug. Shattered Expectations

Not that one, the other one.

Having decided that Optimus Prime's Ark posed too great a threat to the galaxy, the Decepticons resolved to destroy it. Once Razorclaw and Rampage had taken out the hapless guards and Starscream's team had dropped their glass gas bombs, Megatron gave the order to attack the Autobots, and Laserbeak was among the troops that answered his call. He survived the battle and retreated along with Soundwave and Buzzsaw after the Decepticons were victorious. Shattered Glass

Though he was confident that Ravage would never have heard of Rosanna, Ravage not only had, but knew her through Yatter. Knights of Unicron

[edit]
Gives new meaning to the phrase "air guitar".
  • Knights of Unicron Reunion Tour Set (San Diego Comic-Con 2014 exclusive, 2014)
    • Accessories: Guitar strap
The Knights of Unicron Laserbeak figure was officially repurposed as Shattered Glass Laserbeak.
A redeco of Animated Laserbeak, Knights of Unicron Laserbeak transforms from bird-bot into a "flying V" electric guitar in screamin' red-and-white colors. Added to this iteration of the mold is a silver elastic fabric strap, so he can be "held" by his partner Megatron, as the larger bot's hands are not open enough to actually hold him. (Also Megatron's arm jointing is a little awkward even with the strap keeping Laserbeak in place.)
He was only available in the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con "Knights of Unicron Reunion Tour Set", which also included hair-metal versions of Megatron, Optimus Prime, Smooth Jazz, Soundwave, and fellow instrument-bot Ratbat.

  • Soundwave (Voyager Class, 2022)
Shattered Glass Collection Laserbeak is a redeco of Siege Micromaster Laserbeak, turning from a robotic condor into the "V1 Sonicsurge Drone Armor"/something resembling an approximation of a cassette tape. The flattened cube mode is compatible with Blaster/Soundwave's chest compartments. Like the original Siege figure, he features a 5 mm peg that can be pegged into Soundwave's arm.
Laserbeak comes packaged with Soundwave and his fellow cassette Ravage.

  • SG Soundwave Party Set (AAE Series, 2025)
  • ID number: AAE-S 003
  • Accessories: Cassette mode
  • Known designers: Lam Ahtek
Included in the Auldey Alpha Action Elite Series "SG Soundwave Party Set", this is a redeco of the regular Laserbeak, a non-transforming semi-posable robo-bird. His wings and neck are hinged to move up and down, plus his legs are removable and repositionable, though they are on hexagonal pegs so it's really either "straight ahead" or "very splayed" on that score. His feet can clamp around either of Soundwave's forearms by clipping into small slots on the corners.
He also comes with a cassette-mode version of himself, which can slot into Soundwave's chest compartment. His rocket-pack can be removed, but he's hollow under it, so there's not much point.
This set also came with a similar mini-figure of Ravage.
