Gravitas is an esteemed member of the Council of Ancients. For countless ages, he and the council have used their (allegedly) divinely inspired wisdom to choose a bearer for the Matrix of Leadership. When one Prime falls, another is chosen to take his place. Gravitas knows whispers of a grand plan for Cybertron, one spoken from a mysterious source.

[edit]Gravitas, with the rest of the Council of Ancients, created the gladiator games to distract the masses from noticing the limits placed on them, such as the creation of the Forbidden Zones. When Megatron inquired why, the Council was tightlipped and refused to answer any further questions. Megatron defied their order and entered one of the Forbidden Zones, discovering that the Council was being manipulated by the Quintessons.
