Shortly after the Autobots attempted to trick the Decepticons with a fake rocket base courtesy of one of Hound's holograms, Megatron informed them that he'd been onto the plan from the start and that his men were attacking the real rocket base.
Indeed, at Cape Carlson, the army were surprised to see an incoming squadron of unidentified jets. The captain tried fruitlessly to get them to identify themselves, but the Decepticons landed and engaged the military forces on the ground. Helpless against superior Decepticon firepower, the human defenses crumbled and the soldiers fled. Megatron soon arrived to oversee the raid, and the Decepticons were able to gather the energon they needed to complete their spaceship to return to Cybertron. More than Meets the Eye, Part 3

Notes
[edit]- Despite the name of the base suggesting that it's located near water, it seems to be completely surrounded by rocky desert. Maybe it's a really wide cape.
- In a scene cut from the original script, Starscream used his null-ray on the control tower, freezing the occupants.
- Cape Carlson's name and function is very similar to that of Kennedy Space Center, located at Cape Canaveral, Florida.
