Steven Allan Spielberg (born December 18, 1946) is an acclaimed American film director and producer, who serves as the executive producer of DreamWorks' live-action film series. Outside of executive producing the Transformers movies, he has directed a huge number of genre-defining films, including E.T., Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Minority Report, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Jaws, Schindler's List, and Saving Private Ryan. During a five-year span, Mr. Spielberg won the Academy Award for Best Director twice for Schindler's List in 1994 and Saving Private Ryan in 1999.

While watching news footage of a battle between the Dinobots and Megatron, Charlie the bartender expressed concern at the apparent robot invasion. One of his customers was more skeptical and thought the footage might be from the set of the next Spielberg movie. Decepticon Dam-Busters!

• He and his children are fans of The Transformers cartoon and toys. It was his idea to have the first film focus on Sam Witwicky and Bumblebee's friendship, whom Spielberg described as his favorite Transformer on the film's DVD: this "boy and his car" approach was what attracted Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman to write the films. Spielberg gave feedback on each draft of the script. He has also been responsible for shepherding Shia LaBeouf to stardom, and firing Megan Fox.

• Throughout the 1990s, Frank Welker was the official voice of Steven Spielberg in all his animated appearances in shows like Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, and Freakazoid!. All of these were co-produced through the television arm of his production company, Amblin Entertainment, and Warner Bros. In the 2020 revival of Animaniacs, Andy Milder now voices Mr. Spielberg.
