*The Robot Masters cartoon represents only one alternate telling of the Robot Masters storyline. The pack-in comics and online comics tell the same story but with slight variations.

*Optimus's head uses almost exactly the same model as Energon Optimus's CGI incarnation, but with extra antennae stuck on the sides, which denotes that the two Robot Masters episodes were probably created by Studio A-CAT, which was still producing the Energon (or rather, Super Link) show for Takara at the time. The horribly simple CGI in general would seem to reiterate this idea.

Beast Megatron has come from the future/past to pilfer Earth's solitarium. Only a small squad of time-displaced Autobots can stop the Decepticons and save the day!

Synopsis

[edit]

Due to a lack of energon, the Decepticons have left Cybertron and hatched a plot to raid Earth of its powerful new energy source, solitarium. Having traveled through time via the Blastizone, Beast Megatron seizes control of the Decepticon forces who have been rendered directionless after the mysterious disappearance of the original Megatron. Now in command, Beast Megatron launches his invasion of Earth, starting with an arid wasteland in North America.

Having also traveled through time via the Blastizone, future Autobot Supreme Commander Star Saber attempts to protect Earth's solitarium and engages in a dogfight with Starscream. Star Saber performs poorly against his adversary until Victory Leo arrives as back-up. The two immediately combine into Victory Saber and dispatch Starscream. But Starscream is not without his own reinforcements, as Wingstun arrives to back him up. Victory Saber is overwhelmed until Optimus Prime shows up to bail him out, shooting both Wingstun and Starscream out of the sky.

Sir Not-Appearing-in-This-Film.

Plummeting, Starscream is caught by Beast Megatron who arrives on the battlefield atop Gigant Bomb. Beast Megatron violently hurls Starscream aside, annoyed by his incompetence, and faces down Optimus. Beast Megatron explains to Optimus that he has come from to steal the solitarium. Prime is concerned about Beast Megatron disrupting the fabric of time, but Megatron could not care less.

Gigant Bomb and Smokesniper then launch an attack on Optimus and chase him into a canyon. Their pursuit is interrupted by Victory Saber, who keeps them occupied so Prime and Megatron can face off one-on-one. Megatron makes short work of Optimus, but before he can deliver the killing blow, another warrior emerges from the sky: Optimus Primal! Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal combine their energies into the "Double Convoy Tornado", a humongous whirlwind of energy which wipes Beast Megatron out and sends him packing.

As the sun sets, the three time-displaced Autobot Supreme Commanders shake hands and vow to stop the Decepticons. As they do this, they are unaware of Lio Convoy, who watches them from atop a mountain.

Notes

[edit]
 • The Robotmasters cartoon adapts elements from the larger storyline of the Robotmasters comics to tell a similar but heavily abridged version of the story.
 • This episode was first released on a "Galaxy Force Special Secret DVD" included with the February 2005 issue of TV Magazine that was published just one day prior to the release of the Burning Beast Convoy + DVD toy.
 • Oddly, the title of this episode as seen on the DVD included with the Burning Beast Convoy + DVD toy is actually different from the version on the DVD included with TV Magazine, instead being titled: "Gathering! Successive Supreme Commanders" (集結! 歴代総司令官 Shūketsu! Rekidai Sōshireikan).

Animation and technical errors

[edit]
 • Star Saber is Romanized as "Star Saver" in the title card; this is one of two possible meanings of Seibā (セイバー), due to the lack of the v sound in Japanese.
