Jungle City was an enormous structure in Mexico[1] designed as an energon mining installation. It also served as one of many bases on earth for the Autobots. Built into a deep canyon, it had a space bridge built in to it and also had housing quarters for human and Transformer alike. Located close by were a number of ancient ruins, a favorite spot of Misha and Kicker Jones.

[edit]Jungle City was among the targets under attack by Terrorcon raiders early in the Energon conflict. Some time after the attacks began, it and the other mining cities were heavily fortified to protect it against further strikes. These measures, however, became redundant following the return of Megatron.
While the Autobots worked to ready the city for the installation of an Energon tower, it came under attack from the Decepticons. After the attackers breached the defenses and feeling that they'd be unable to reclaim it, it was decided to destroy the city by detonating the Energon within. Consequently, the city and the nearby ruins were destroyed.
Some months later, once the threat to Earth had passed, additional Energon was found at the site while work was underway reconstructing the ruins.
