The Horrorcons are among the many Transformers caught up in the interdimensional war between the Children of Primus and the Minions of Unicron.
No, we don't know what makes a Horrorcon a Horrorcon.

Later, Hasbro's official website checklist shortly featured listings for two Universe "Halloween Horrorcon Value Packs" that were to be Walmart exclusives.
