[edit]
- Autobot Blaster (Voyager Class, 2013)
- Hasbro Series / number: 1 / 004
- TakaraTomy ID number: TG17
- Known designers: Joe Kyde (Hasbro), Andrew Scribner (deco artist)
- Only available with Blaster as part of the second wave of Generations Voyager Class toys, Steeljaw is a retooling of Fall of Cybertron Ravage, transforming from a "data disc" into a robotic lion. He is capable of storing in and launching out of Blaster's chest compartment, and features a partial, spring-loaded transformation to lion mode that is triggered when a button on his underside is pressed.
- Unlike the other data disc redeco/retools, Hasbro Steeljaw uses exactly the same circuit-board layout as his mold-mate Ravage, rather than a mirrored version.
- The TakaraTomy version of Steeljaw has quite a few differences form the Hasbro release. His yellow plastic is a slightly darker shade. Silver paint has been added to his legs and nose, plus gold paint on his upper back. He has a small Autobot symbol added over each shoulder. And while he has the same circuit-board pattern as the Hasbro release, the colors have been heavily altered. Where the Hasbro version uses a high-contrast dark brown and medium-bronze combination, the TakaraTomy version uses a very light brown and dark gold combo, and also inverts the darker/lighter orientation.
