According to legend, it was in Rivets Field, twelve million years ago, that the first Cybertronian discovered that he could transform. How to Say Goodbye and Mean It Whatever the accuracy of that account, more concretely, recorded history confirms that six million years ago, a hot spot ignited in Rivets Field, causing a number of new sparks to be born. Eons later, inspired by its history, Rodimus chose Rivets Field to be launch site of his new ship, the Lost Light. He held a speech there, asking Autobots to join him in his quest to find the Knights of Cybertron. How to Say Goodbye and Mean It Around two years later, whilst trying to escape an Ammonite invasion, Bumblebee suggested all survivors could gather at the nearest Iaconian hot spots—Rivets Field, Port Residua, and Vespertine Blue—to be picked up by the Lost Light. When the Functionist Council transported Cybertron over from the Functionist Universe, the crew of the Lost Light came up with a plan to create twelve Matrixes — one for each of the planet's hot spots — in order to overload Vector Sigma and destroy the Council. Appropriately enough, it was Tailgate who was assigned to Rivets Field, along with Cyclonus, who wasted no time getting to grips with the Council's Functionaries. After hearing an inspirational speech from Rodimus, Tailgate was able to open the Matrix, using its energies to overload the Vector Sigma chamber and destroy the Functionist Council. When the first combiner rampaged across Cybertron in a relentless search for energon, it was confronted, defeated, and separated at Rivets Field. In the mayhem, the Enigma of Combination wound up buried under the area and was presumed lost.

In the aftermath of the War of the Threefold Spark, the newly forged Constructicons were put to work in Rivets Field, at Wheeljack's suggestion, since the field contained much in the way of raw resources that could be used to rebuild the planet.
