Decepticon Empire

At the very start of their faction's formation, the Decepticons may have been content with ruling Cybertron alone, but that is a notion of little value. It matters not that their creator intended the Transformers to be a race of peace. The Decepticons are the highest form of life in existence, conquerors who will bring order to a galaxy plagued by disorder and weak organics. That order is the Decepticon Empire (sometimes Decepticon Imperium or Decepticon Star Empire), a reign of life's most powerful creatures and thus highest accomplishments.

Only one thing is standing in the way of that ideal.

The Transformers cartoon

By 1985, the Decepticon Empire had conquered Tlalakan and began draining it of energon. Sea Change This conquest and others like it gave the Decepticons ties into the world of galactic crime. The Gambler

By 2006, the Decepticon Empire was essentially extinct. After the Decepticons were driven from Cybertron by Unicron's attack and the disappearance of Galvatron, they fled to Chaar. Without Galvatron, or other strong leaders such as Air Commander Starscream and Military Operations Commander Shockwave, they descended into a period of disunity, spending their time fighting each other for scraps of Energon. Eventually, Cyclonus resolved to locate Galvatron and restore the Decepticon Empire to its former glory. It didn't work out too well. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 1

After conquering the planet Paradron, Galvatron made it a part of the Decepticon Empire and started to force the natives into slavery where they were forced to build weapons for the glory of the Empire. Fight or Flee

After the Decepticons were driven off Earth, The Final Showdown on Earth (Part 2) they made Chaar the center of a new empire and began a series of conflicts known as the Master Wars (named such because both sides made extensive use of technology from Planet Master). The revitalized empire was apparently enough of a threat that the Autobots were unable to spare forces to join the Masterforce War raging on Earth.

Victory cartoon

Deathsaurus rose to the position of Emperor of Destruction after his predecessor BlackZarak was unexpectedly killed in battle on Earth during the Masterforce War. Under his leadership, the Decepticon Empire spread its influence to various planets, forcing the Autobots to join with various planetary governments to form the Universal Peace Alliance in response.

Wings Universe

Wings Universe is based on the Generation 1 cartoon, but deviates from it in cosmetic ways and continuity points.

In 2984, when inquired by the time-traveler Tornado as to her background, Flamewar proclaimed herself to be all that was left of the Decepticon Empire. The Decepticon Empire was to be founded through the use of Project Dreadnought, which would turn Cybertron itself into a warship only for Megatron's vendetta with Optimus Prime to delay the project's completion, much to the disapproval of Shockwave who eventually concluded that Megatron had to be removed for the Decepticon Empire to rise. 2005 IDW continuity

The Decepticons had an imperial phase during the space-based phase of the war, during which they conquered a number of planets and made them part of a domain known as the Constellate. Rules of Disengagement According to Fulcrum, created during the cyberforming days of the Empire, the Decepticons were "refining" the galaxy by getting rid what they saw as backwards and inferior organic races. Who's Afraid of the DJD? The Decepticon Empire eventually fell, making way for a strategy based on pillaging instead of conquest. Via the infiltration protocol, they let a planet ruin itself before taking its resources and letting "phase-sixers" such as Sixshot and Black Shadow completely reduce it to ash and rubble.

When Galvatron took command of the Decepticon forces, his ultimate goal was to make the "New Decepticon Empire". slaughterhouse Prowl's motivation for waging the Combiner Wars was his fear that Starscream would turn the fledgling Council of Worlds into a new Decepticon Empire. After being inadvertently hurled back in time, The First Who Was Named Shockwave devoted the next twelve million years to a long game that would culminate in the birth of a resurgent and unending Decepticon Empire. Last Stand Stranger Eons Once Unicron had destroyed Cybertron, Shockwave immediately went to work making Earth the capital of his new empire, even planning to use Starscream's Decepticon Vengeance Division as the muscle of his new dominion. In Primax 185.0 Beta, Galvatron used Decepto-Packs to enslave humanity ordering his slaves to construct a fleet of Zod drones. With this mighty army, the Decepticons defeated the Autobots and commenced an aggressive conquest of the galaxy. After most of the galaxy had fallen to the Decepticon Empire, the Quintesson Pan Galactic Co-Prosperity Sphere finally interceded and sent its Terrorcon hordes against the Zods. Timelines

In Primax 096.0 Beta, General Optimus Prime led the Autobots in the final battle of the third Cybertronian war against Megatron's Decepticon Star Empire. With the efforts of the newly reconstituted Firestormer Squadron, the Autobots emerged victorious on Mirtonia. However, this came about because a stray Decepticon shot blew up an experimental energon refinery and themselves with it, tearing a hole in reality that sucked the General and Sergeant Hound to Nexus 208.0 Epsilon. Megatron's ultimate ambition after defeating the Autobots was to create the Decepticon Empire, built through the conquest of other worlds. The massive energy bill for this meant that Megatron needed the full power of the AllSpark, sending Soundwave to find the lost Star Harvester and spread the Empire's glory among the stars. The Decepticon Empire grew quickly early in the Great War as the Decepticons conquered numerous colony worlds belonging to the Autobot Commonwealth. By the end of it, however, the planets were all retaken by the Autobots (or destroyed) and the Decepticons were sent into exile to the rim of the galaxy, where they slowly began to rebuild their empire. Sentinel Minor felt that the "Decepticon Star Empire" didn't have enough planets to justify calling itself an empire, stating that it had an industrial capacity five times lower than the Autobot Commonwealth and one-tenth the military force. Following Cybertron's restoration, Cyclonus and his troops overthrew the new High Council with the intent to bring about the Decepticon Empire. Freedom Fighters

Upon seizing control of "Decepticon Island", Steeljaw declared to the captive Bee Team that it would be the first outpost in his new Decepticon Empire. Decepticon Island (Part 1)
