| The name or term "Devastator" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Devastator (disambiguation). |
- Devastator is a Decepticon combiner from the 2001 Robots in Disguise continuity family (via the 2003 Universe toyline).

Devastator is the sum of the four Constructicons: Bonecrusher, Hightower, Long Haul, and Scavenger. He hates himself a lot, but he hates everyone else even more!

[edit]In Viron 704.31 Epsilon, Devastator was created when the Build Team was reformatted by Megazarak's Robo-Smasher. The team was ego-wiped and implanted with shell programs drawn from old Predacon personality components. On the eve of an important battle, members of both sides of the war, including the Constructicons, were snatched away by Unicron to participate in the Universe War. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/07/30
Toys
[edit]Universe (2003)
[edit]- Bonecrusher & Scavenger (Ultra Class 2-pack, 2006)
- Long Haul & Hightower (Ultra Class 2-pack, 2006)
- A redeco of Robots in Disguise Landfill. Unique among combiner molds, each limb-former could be configured as either both arms (simultaneously) or as a single leg.
- "Constructicon Devastator" was available only by purchasing two separate Target-exclusive Ultra-level two-packs: Bonecrusher & Scavenger and Long Haul & Hightower.
Notes
[edit]- While clearly an homage to the Generation 1 Constructicons, the team that composes Devastator technically had no name for almost a decade. The term "Constructicon" appears solely as a prefix to "Devastator". Only in 2015 did the Facebook edition of Ask Vector Prime rectify this.
- These sets were originally slated for release as a mass retail wave of Transformers: Universe Ultra assortment. Ultimately, the cancellation of that assortment led to several years of the sets shifting from Walmart exclusives, to Hasbro Toy Shop exclusives (like the similarly abandoned Astrotrain reissue), before eventually ending up as Target exclusives. This didn't stop Walmart's website from listing the toys, complete with stock photos and all, for well over a year, though!
