Matrix Templar

The Matrix Templars are a group of Transformers from the Universe portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Not much is known about the Matrix Templars, other than that they have a unique physiology.<ref>Apelinq's War Journals</ref> Known Matrix Templars include:

• Magnaboss (Leader)
• Rodimus
• Cheetor
• Grizzly-1
• Snarl
• King Atlas
• Sentinel Maximus

They may be similar to Earth's Knights Templar, a Christian military order of warrior-monks.

Snarl, the "One of Five," was sent by Primus and Alpha Trion to retrieve Optimus Primal from his holding cell. It is not specified whether his Matrix Templar affiliations allowed him to sneak past the sentries undetected and open a portal within Primal's cell, or if those are special abilities specific to Snarl.
