Copterdrones are automatons created by Isaac Sumdac for the purpose of law enforcement. They aid the police in subduing dangerous threats in Detroit, and possibly elsewhere in the world as well. Their small maneuverable nature means that they can engage the targets from many angles normally inaccessible to officers.

Copterdrones attempted to subdue the microbot-enhanced cockroach that was loose outside of Sumdac Tower. Their firepower didn't prove to be very effective, unfortunately. When the Autobots stepped in to combat the mutated creature, Captain Fanzone ordered the drones to engage them as well; he didn't trust the unfamiliar 'bots, especially since one of them was handling an innocent child.
