- The scientific class is a social stratum from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

On Cybertron under functionism, those Transformers with alternate modes such as photon microscopes and other laboratory equipment are collected into the scientific class. They are relatively uncommon according to the Grand Cybertronian Taxonomy and enjoy a reasonably good quality of life.
