The name or term "Dirge" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Dirge (disambiguation).
Dirge is a Decepticon from the Kre-O continuity family.
Seeing as how often Dirges die, the flak jacket is probably a good idea.

Dirge thinks you ought to know he's feeling very depressed. He might be able to soar far above the clouds, but have you ever been up there? It's cold and everything's really far away. Dirge doesn't have any friends, because friends would just betray him, like his pet toucan that ran away. Also they could turn out to be clowns—Dirge really hates clowns.

Fiction

Kre-O cartoon

Dirge took part in a game of soccer against Airachnid and the Constructicons. It's unclear why he was playing on the Autobot side. Ultimate Defender

Ker-O online comic

Dirge was among Bludgeon's troops who discovered the legendary Red Bucket, only to be interrupted by the arrival of Bluestreak and Jazz. On Bludgeon's order, Dirge tipped the bucket over on the Autobots, burying them in blocks, but this only led to the Decepticons' defeat when Jazz used the blocks to his advantage. Part of the first normal wave of Micro-Changer Kreons, Dirge is a blindpacked-bagged mini-figure, though a stamped ID number can be found on the back of the bag, top-right corner. He comes with extra parts to convert him into a jet. He features new wings which clip into his arms and a new jet nosecone helmet, but reuses Starscream's arm-mounted missile pieces.

  • Kreon Class of 1985 (Kreon figure set, 2015)
A redeco of the normal Dirge Kreon, with more toy-accuracy.

Notes

  • Dirge's early product photography is of an obvious non-production-final mockup, with much darker wings and a face that's just a paper decal. More interesting though is his blunted-off nosecone-helmet.
