For example, one's personal canon could be:
* The first two seasons of the Generation 1 animated series, but not including the movie or subsequent seasons.
* The Marvel Comics continuity, but without accompanying material from Marvel Comics UK.
* Renaming toys after pre-existing characters, such as considering Energon Shockblast to be Generation 1 Shockwave.
* Disregarding one animated-series origin of the Constructicons for another.
* Merging elements of the Dreamwave comics version of Armada with the animated cartoon's.
* Accepting Marvel's Generation 2 comics as "true" except for the death of Nightbeat.
* Accepting everything in every known Transformers continuity having happened as a single jumbled entity, ignoring the inconsistencies as "gray areas" that one mustn't be concerned with.

*Some fans consider Cyclonus and Scourge as reincarnations of the Seekers Skywarp and Thundercracker, while others consider that just the Seekers' corpses were recycled to create Cyclonus and Scourge's bodies as all-new transformers.
And so on. There are, of course, infinite possibilities.

*The fandom also disagree about what happened with the Decepticons after "The Rebirth". Some fans believe that the 'cons never returned to Cybertron, others believe the 'cons returned led by Galvatron, and some others (like the guy who wrote this) believe that the 'cons returned led by Zarak/Scorponok, who, at some point, could have gotten rid of Galvatron.

From Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki, a Wikia wiki.

A personal canon is one fan's interpretation of the Transformers mythos. This can range from picking and choosing stories and characters that he or she favors and assembling them as he or she likes, to discarding one or two discerned distasteful properties from an otherwise accepted continuity.

For example, one's personal canon could be:

 • The first two seasons of the Generation 1 animated series, but not including the movie or subsequent seasons.
 • The Marvel Comics continuity, but without accompanying material from Marvel Comics UK.
 • Renaming toys after pre-existing characters, such as considering Energon Shockblast to be Generation 1 Shockwave.
 • Disregarding one animated-series origin of the Constructicons for another.
 • Merging elements of the Dreamwave comics version of Armada with the animated cartoon's.
 • Accepting Marvel's Generation 2 comics as "true" except for the death of Nightbeat.
 • Accepting everything in every known Transformers continuity having happened as a single jumbled entity, ignoring the inconsistencies as "gray areas" that one mustn't be concerned with.

And so on. There are, of course, infinite possibilities.
