A space gambler named [[Bosch]] captures [[Optimus Prime]], [[Bumblebee]], [[Perceptor]], [[Inferno]] and [[Smokescreen]] and proceeds to brainwash them with a ray that erases their free will. Smokescreen escapes through a malfunction.
When [[Smokescreen]] and the space gambler [[Bosch]] inadvertantly allowed a group of brainwashed [[Autobot]]s to fall into the clutches of Lord Gyconi, Slizardo was ordered to follow the pair in order to keep tabs on them. Shadowing them as they entered a bar, the luckless Slizardo was turned on by two thugs, but was saved by the Autobot bounty hunter [[Devcon]], and swore loyalty to him. With his aid, Smokescreen, Bosch and Devcon discovered that Gyconi had sold the captive Autobots to the [[Decepticon]]s and attacked, prompting the villains to flee. Preparing to give chase, Devcon offered a partnership to Slizardo, who happily accepted and jetted off into space with him.{{storylink|The Gambler}}
 
Upon discovering that Bosch is a gambler, Smokescreen bets that he can beat a slot machine that Bosch has created and Bosch accepts. Smokescreen uses a chord from his wrist to secretly zap the machine and rigs the machine so that he wins.
 
Bosch, seeing a chance to make some quick energon chips, makes a deal with Smokescreen to free the other Autobots if they make a killing on a gambling planet, Monicus. The pair uses the other Autobots as collateral in exchange for fifty energon chips at 500 percent interest from Lord Gyconi, an arena owner.  The catch is that they have to return in an hour to reclaim the Autobots or they will belong to Gyconi.


After Smokescreen loses all the chips, he and Bosch return to Gyconi to discover that the Autobots have already been scheduled for a deathmatch with the "Animaliens.When Smokescreen leaves in a huff, Gyconi sends Slizardo to follow him.
By 2006, it became apparent that Slizardo and Devcon had gone their separate ways, and Slizardo had fallen in with the alien mercenary, the [[Skuxxoid]]. Having already done several jobs for [[Galvatron (G1)|Galvatron]], the Skuxxoid brought Slizardo in when he recieved his newest mission - to release [[anti-electron]]s into a power generator on Cybertron, which caused Autobots all across the planet to malfunction. When [[Grimlock (G1)|Grimlock]] shut the generator down, the anti-electrons vaporized, sending Galvatron into a rage, but Slizardo placated him by suggesting that he look inside Unicron's head for more. {{storylink|Grimlock's New Brain}}


While following Smokescreen and Bosch, Slizardo is attacked by two bouncers.  He is inadvertently rescued by Devcon and swears undying loyalty to him.

With the help of [[Devcon]], Bosch, and Slizardo, Smokescreen is able to free his friends before they are taken back to Earth by Astrotrain and under Decepticon control.  When Devcon rushes off to pursue the Decepticons he invites Slizardo to join him as a partner and Slizardo eagerly accepts.


Slizardo and [[Devcon]] eventually went their separate ways and Slizardo became a low level mercenary for [[Galvatron]] after the great conflict with [[Unicron]].  He and [[Scukzoid]] realeased anti-electrons from [[Unicron]]'s head into a power generator on Cybertron.  The anti-electrons caused the machine to go beserk and release energy which made the Autobots malfunction.  Grimlock saved the day by severing the power cable which somehow turned him into a genius. [[Grimlock]] used his new found intelligence to create [[Computron]].
Devcon expanded on the circumstances of his and Slizardo's separation, smirklingly telling [[Apelinq]] that after "about fifteen cycles," he left Slizardo floating in space when he got the information he needed from him. Jerk. {{storylink|Betrayal}}
