Like some vast, kleptomaniacal bird!

Corvicons, also known as crow Decepticons or Crowcons, are compulsive thieves and hoarders, utterly single-minded in their pursuit of treasure, though this treasure can be anything from a super-valuable crystalline containment vessel to a discarded foil gum wrapper. The important thing is that it be shiny—the glitterier the better. Equipped with sharp talons and screechy, squawking voices, they are highly maneuverable in flight, and specalize in making swooping attacks to rake their enemies with their claws.

The criminal Filch is a Corvicon.

2015 Robots in Disguise books

Filch stole the Scavengebot Scuzzard from the Autobots, but when he started eating her base of operations in an amusement park, the two fought, and Bumblebee's Autobot team was able to recapture them both. Bumblebee Versus Scuzzard

Notes

  • Corvids are, taxonomically speaking, the crows and their relatives; Corvicons' shiny-craving, thieving behavior is specifically associated with magpies, and their "swooping" attack pattern is reminicient of the Australian variety of same.
  • Corvicons are called by different names at different times in the show. Filch is referred to as a Corvicon, but Boostwing and his brothers are "crow Decepticons" to the Autobots, while Russell Clay calls them "Crowcons".
