The name or term "Megatron" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Megatron (disambiguation).
Megatron is a Decepticon from the Transformers (2007) continuity family. He is often refered to as Lord Megatron. Known to humans as both "The Ice Man" and "The Mega-Man."

He is evil, single-minded in his goals, and tends to become so obsessed with his object of desire that he ignores the glaring flaws in his plans(if he didn't ignore them, he wouldn't have crashed into ice-cold water and be frozen for millions of years).

Fiction

Spoiler warning: Plot details follow.

Please give an expiry date ({{spoiler|(story)|DATE}}) - either the date
of the next episode/issue in the series or 30 days after release, whichever is sooner

Official Movie Prequel comic

Megatron used to rule Cybertron with Optimus Prime. He got a jones for the Allspark and the war started. When Bumblebee stalled him long enough for it to be launched into space, he tore off Bumblebee's arm and crushed his voice box. (But in a friendly way.) He then took off after it and eventually pulling a Skyfire.

"The Ice Man" may defrost if some dedicated humans can't prevent it.
