When the GoBots need to adopt new alternate modes, they use Modifiers to install new transformation circuits into their bodies.

Renegade Rhetoric
Both the Guardian and Renegades used modifiers to take on new vehicle modes. Some modifiers were designed to emulate Earth vehicles, while others gave GoBots Gobotronic vehicle modes.
