IDW Generation 1 continuity
The battle centered around the experimental Decepticon war cruiser Hell's Point. As the ship prepared to deploy its wormhole generator, a number of Autobots, including Ultra Magnus, Cliffjumper, Grimlock, and Impactor, found themselves fighting on top of the ship itself. While Optimus was being held at bay elsewhere by the Tremorcons, Megatron and the Warriors Elite dealt with Ultra Magnus. The Gloaming Impactor, meanwhile, would kill so many Decepticons during the battle that he'd gain the nickname "Kiloton". Impactor's Profile
Optimus eventually got the better of the Tremorcons and went on to face down Megatron. Megatron tore off half of Optimus's face in their battle but Optimus would win the fight by using the Tremorcons' geo-scoop to drop a city block on him, shattering his transformation cog. As a result, Megatron would be trapped in his gun mode for two years afterwards. Chaos Theory Part 1
