Blastwave is an Autobot from the Robots in Disguise portion of the Aligned continuity family.
Darn that...(Yawns)

Blastwave is the high-tech weapons base for the Autobots. A 'shoot first, ask questions later' type, Blastwave has the weapon expertise to know exactly what equipment it takes to blow a Decepticon into scrap.[1]

"BLAST THAT...(Yawns even harder)"
  • Blastwave (Deluxe, 2016)
    • Accessories: Double-barreled blaster, sword
Part of the 9th wave of the Warrior Class line, now sporting the "Combiner Force" subline logo, Blastwave transforms from a robot to a double-barreled tank of fictional origin. Blastwave is a heavy retool of the previous year's Deluxe Megatronus, with pretty much all of the figure from the waist up being redesigned, plus new kneepads. The cannon barrels in tank mode are articulated, and can be removed from the figure's back to be used as a hand-held weapon. The figure also has a peg hole on the back of its head meant to "store" the sword in tank mode; but it can also be used in conjunction with the cannons to allow for the figure to be displayed in a more offense-focused configuration.
This mold was also used to make Bludgeon.

Notes

  • Despite being a fairly extensive retool affecting nearly every area of the toy, Blastwave's card art is blatantly an unchanged Megatronus body with only a new head and chest.
  • Blastwave's HasbroToyShop bio features no pronouns. Maybe someone will pull a Sonar on them in ten years. It also describes the character as a "weapons base" for some reason.
