Ruby lasers are a type of long-range weaponry used by Transformers. The Decepticons' Attack Squad robots come equipped with these types of blasters.

During a scuffle with a couple of Attack Squad robots, Hot Rod found himself in the sights of his enemy's weapons. If you attempted to intervene, you got blasted by a ruby laser for your trouble, which killed you. Desert of Danger
