The People's Liberation Army Paranormal Taskforce consisted of anti-Cybertronian equipment designer Dr. Li Shaoshao, expert pilot Colonel Qian Xilong, and martial artist and mysticist Special Agent "Cancer". After a series of battles between the Autobot Spy Changers and the Decepticon Go-Bots, the Paranormal Taskforce set an ambush for them at an Arbco science conference in Wuhan, China. The Decepticons Soundwave, Frenzy and Nightracer attacked, intending to steal the advanced exosuit on display, and though the Autobots Red Alert, Bluestreak and Trailbreaker revealed themselves, the threat of the Decepticons opening fire on the croud made them back off; however, this gave the Paranormal Taskforce, who had been disguised as scientists, the opportunity to unveil their weaponry and push the Decepticons back with primitive electro-disruptors, allowing the Autobots to apprehend their foes.
