Triple Combination: Transformers Go! (参乗合体 トランスフォーマーGo! Sanjō Gattai Toransufōmā Gō!) is an animated series available via DVDs packaged with TV Magazine and TV-Kun. It was created to promote the new characters sold in the toyline and ostensibly takes place after events inspired by the Beast Hunters portion of Transformers: Prime. The "Samurai Chapter" began with the August 2013 issue of TV-Kun and highlights the Swordbot Samurai Team, while the "Shinobi Chapter" began with the September 2013 issue of TV Magazine and centers on the Swordbot Shinobi Team. The two chapters ended with the May 2014 issue of TV-Kun and the April 2014 issue of TV Magazine, respectively. The animation for the series is provided by Tatsunoko Production.

Beginning with the third Samurai Chapter and second Shinobi Chapter episodes, "TRANSFORMERS-Go!" and "Sanjō Gattai! Hero!" were added in as the opening and ending theme songs for the series.

Overview

After an incident at Mount Fuji unearths the slumbering Dragotron, Demon Emperor of the Predacons , his minions known as the Four Oni subsequently awaken and seek to restore their unconscious master to full power. To do so, they must obtain five mystical items known as the Legendiscs, which have been hidden away. However, in response to their awakening, two three-member teams of Autobot combiners, each belonging to subgroup called the Swordbots, have likewise been summoned to counter this new Predacon threat. Answering the call of two human boys, the Swordbot Samurai Team comes to aid Isami Tatewaki, and the Swordbot Shinobi Team teams up with Tobio Fūma. The two teams use their combination abilities to battle the Predacons, and recruit both Isami and Tobio to help them in their fight. And with the guidance of Optimus Prime, both teams must find all of the remaining Legendiscs—which are located in various points in time throughout history—so as to keep them safe from the Predacons.
