Synopsis

Optimus Prime leads a group of Autobots against a group of Bludgeon's Decepticons on an alien world. The Decepticons want the alien super-weapons that are rumoured to be on this planet, but Bludgeon knows the Autobots, under pressure from a greater Decepticon army, want those weapons for themselves. Outnumbered and outgunned, the Autobots are being flattened.

Unknown to the Decepticons, Hot Rod has been sent off to create a distraction: to use the planet's old systems to create a ghostly figure that might distract or impress the occult-interested Bludgeon. Hot Rod sets to work, finding the place spooky.

A menacing figure appears at the battle, ordering the Transformers to leave or suffer the consequences. After an unnamed Decepticon attempts to fight against this figure, only to be incinerated, the Decepticons retreat. Optimus is pleased at Hot Rod's great work... which is when Hot Rod returns to announce the systems were too alien for him to figure out, the Autobots realize that this is no illusion and run away themselves.

(Numbers indicate order of appearance.)

Quotes

"We will simply have to fight and win using what we already possess in abundance - sheer guts and determination!"

Optimus Prime tries to dismiss away a lost advantage.

Continuity errors

  • Bludgeon is now openly plotting things, whereas in issue #1, he and his army were still lying low.
  • When Bludgeon references "the main Decepticon army" as being a motivating factor for the Autobots, he is ostensibly referring to Jhiaxus's forces. However he does not actually call them by name, leaving the meaning of the reference vague.
