- Finney is a human from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Finney and his best friend Pidge grew up in the same Pawtucket neighborhood as aspiring detective Mike "Mikey" Power, the future Atomic Man. Prone to bullying and petty crime, the two boys developed a reputation as troublemaking hooligans.
Fiction
IDW Generation 1 continuity
When Mikey Power investigated a missing bicycle, Finney and Pidge taunted the disabled boy, pushing his face in a muddy puddle and stomping on his face. As it turned out, the footprints they left behind on his face were the same footprints that Power had been following, allowing the young detective to make the connection between Pidge and the stolen bike.
A few days later, Finney went missing inside a "haunted house," prompting Pidge to recruit Mike's help. The two investigated the abandoned house, discovering a strange device being smuggled into the country by a gang of foreign spies. Action Man intervened in time for Mike to rescue Finney.
As a result of their rescue, the two boys befriended Mike and invited him to play that winter. Power, by this time engrossed in reverse-engineering the device he had found in the abandoned house, declined. Power and Glory
