The Antillans were once native to the planet Antilla.

Fiction

IDW Generation 1 continuity

Some twelve million years ago, the Antillan species had developed a technologically advanced civilization; their history would be abruptly truncated when Onyx Prime, seeking to expand the Cybertronian aegis to further his complicated goals, targeted Antilla for Cybertronian conquest. The Antillans fought back, but were unable to match the power of Omega Supreme and his Omega Guardians. Stranger Eons The First Who Was Named

Realizing that the conflict would only end in the extinction of their species, a desperate scientist constructed a doomsday weapon — one that would destroy all life on Antilla, organic and mechanical alike. When the scientist activated his weapon, it did just that, killing everything on the planet. Stranger Eons

The species' legacy would live on, after a fashion; millions of years later, "Antilla" — now warped and reshaped into the planet-eating Unicron — adopted the countenance of an Antillan upon first assuming his new robot mode. Stranger Eons

Notes

• Optimus Prime #18 presents a rather different appearance for the Antillan soldiers than Unicron; depicting them as two-fingered beings clad in bulky red armor.
