Ooooo... pretty.

The Transformation Lock Lens is a Predacon weapon invented by Tarantulas. The device levitates in the air and shoots a pink beam through a round lens that traps victims in their beast modes, rendering them relatively defenseless.

The lens appears to have either rudimentary artificial intelligence or sophisticated programming that helps it distinguish between friend or foe, dodge enemy fire, and hide itself for later dramatic entrances. It is not very durable, however; a single direct hit of weapons fire is all it takes to destroy it.

Repairing one's self from the "lock" is done by spending some time in a CR chamber.

Tigatron was assigned guard duty as the Maximals built a signal array to contact a probe from Cybertron. Tarantulas attacked him using the Transformation Lock Lens which trapped Tigatron in his beast mode. When Cheetor came to help his fellow cat, he also succumbed to the device while Tarantulas cackled on the sidelines. The pair were taken prisoner and brought back to the Predacon base.

The eye in the sky is not your friend, Primal.

Later, the Predacons attacked the Maximal signal array, using the lens to trap Dinobot, Rattrap, and Optimus in quick succession. Luckily, Rhinox arrived in time to save Optimus from Megatron, but the lens zapped him before he could complete the array, ruining the Maximal's chance to contact the Cybertronian probe.

As Megatron destroyed the array and prepared to finish his mode-locked foes, Cheetor and Tigatron arrived on the scene, having escaped from the Predacon base and cured themselves using its repair chamber. The catbots released a barrage of firepower from out of nowhere, which finally destroyed the Transformation Lock Lens. The Probe
