Having previously reinterpreted Transformers in the pages of Transformers vs. G.I. Joe, Scioli brought his pen to the franchise's one-time rival, GoBots. Scioli's series recast the alien cyborgs as mechanical servants created by humans on Earth — servants that ended up rising up against their masters and creating a new world, Gobotron.
Baron Karza was foiled by an alliance of hero factions in collecting Ore-13 from Earth to stop the entropy storm. Now recovered, Karza has conceived a new idea for the survival of Microspace's inhabitants: wholesale migration to Earth. For this to happen, the self-proclaimed savior of Microspace must first annihilate any potential opposition in the new homeland. Leading the upgraded forces of the Ministry of Defense, Karza will stop at nothing and crush anyone who stands against his goals. His priority target is the ragtag band of adventurers who have interfered with his plans time and time again: the Micronauts.

While initially seeming to be standalone, without the connections to the Transformers previous media made, the final issue of Go-Bots saw the newly peaceful Gobotron taking off to create a multiverse's worth of new planets, while Road Ranger and Bug Bite (GoBots) set about creating "optimized" successors to themselves — and the remains of the deceased Cy-Kill (GoBots) and Leader-1 (GoBots) are repaired and combined into a familiar-looking red, grey and blue jet. Though never stated outright, the implication is that the Go-Bots would go on to create the Transformers multiverse and all the versions of Cybertron that populate it — though in many cases, this lies in contradiction to past fiction.

Still — after years of arguments over whether GoBots are Transformers, we can now start arguing over whether Transformers are, in fact, Go-Bots.
