When imbibing various kinds of intoxicating fuel, a Transformer can elect to disengage their fuel intake moderation chip in order to experience the associated effects, which can range from slurring one's words to passing out dead drunk.

While in a bar on Hedonia, Swerve convinced Ultra Magnus to deactivate his fuel intake moderation chip after drinking a Mood Whiplash. When Magnus immediately went from vertical to horizontal, Skids checked the drink and discovered that Whirl hadn't given him carbonated engex but weapons-grade nucleon instead, requiring Magnus to later have his fuel tanks reconstructed.
