2005 IDW continuity
After a toxic substance known as mycopropelene was leaked to the Decepticons by Skyfall, the Decepticon commander Gideon got hold of a quantity of it. During the battle of Babu Yar, Gideon had his men rain the substance down on Flame's attacking Autobots, and it promptly began dissolving their foe.
