Transformers is a twice-monthly ongoing comic series from IDW Publishing that debuted in March 2019. The series serves as a continuity reboot for IDW's Transformers comics, replacing the previous ongoing continuity that ran from 2005 to 2018.

Overview

Set prior to the war between Autobots and Decepticons, Transformers takes place on a thriving, peaceful Cybertron that serves as an interstellar commerce hub. The era of peace is brought to an unexpected end, however, when the planet experiences its first murder in living memory.[1]

Creative team

The series is written by Brian Ruckley. Art duties are split between Angel Hernandez and Cachét Whitman, with Hernandez illustrating the majority of the pages in each issue.[2]

Notes

  • Transformers makes extensive use of toy designs from the concurrent Siege toyline.
  • Initial promotion for the series stated that Hernandez and Ron Joseph would be the artists, but Joseph had to drop the project for personal reasons and was replaced by Whitman.[2]
