Two Iron Grenadiers served as Destro's escort when he visited Cobra Island to check up on Cobra's attempts at reprogramming Transformers. G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #2 G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers #3

2005 IDW continuity

Iron Grenadiers were stationed in the Iron Castle when Snake Eyes broke in. They quickly subdued the intruder only for Ironblood to discover "Snake Eyes" was in fact a robot. "Tomax Paoli" soon revealed himself to be the real Snake Eyes who promptly killed all the Grenadiers, using one of their armoured arms to destroy the console projecting the mind control signal controlling the Predacons. Along with the Red Shadows, the Grenadiers formed the muscle of the Iron Ring attack on Cybertron. First Strike #1 Pyra Magna graphically destroyed a cluster of them with her pick-axe. Unification Day: Dawn

A handful of Iron Grenadiers were left behind at Castle Destro but proved an insufficient defense in protecting the M.A.S.S. Device from Soundwave's party. Upon arriving in Iacon, Soundwave used a sonic attack to incapacitate the invading Grenadiers. First Strike #3
