Gozer the Gozerian, also known as Gozer the Destructor, Volguus Zildrohar and the Traveler, is powerful and malevolent entity from beyond the universe, dedicated to the destruction of worlds. Uniquely however, not only must Gozer first be invited/summoned into the realm it seeks to destroy, it also allows the inhabitants of the hapless world it lands on to choose the form of their destroyer, though with a rather liberal interpretation of the word "choose."

When the Autobots fled Cybertron at the end of the Great War, Gozer appeared on Cybertron to the Decepticons. While Shockwave and Soundwave advocated caution, Starscream responded with a null-ray, the unamused entity reflecting the attack back at the Decepticons. When Megatron approached it, Gozer asked him to choose the image of Cybertron's destroyer. Picking up Starscream's passing thought that only he was powerful enough to destroy Cybertron, Gozer disappeared and rematerialized as a titanic version of the Seeker. Though the Decepticons were quick to counterattack, Gozer was able to best them and destroy Cybertron. Ghosts of Cybertron Part 1
