Fiction
Revenge of the Fallen film
During The Fallen's invasion of Earth, Decepticon transition forms under his command hurtled down from space and destroyed the Theodore Roosevelt off the east coast of the United States. The Fallen himself clambered onto the stern of the broken ship in victory as she sank beneath the waves. Revenge of the Fallen
Notes
- Footage for the transition forms flying down towards the carrier group was once again the unaltered footage of the modern USS Abraham Lincoln shot for Pearl Harbor. One can tell by the identical formation and disposition of the ships in the group (albeit seen from a different angle) to those in the overhead fleet shot from the 2007 Transformers movie, as well as the Lincoln's hull number of 72 on the bow of the flight deck. However, when the transition forms crash into the carrier, the footage used is of USS John C. Stennis, as the carrier only carries aircraft currently serving in the US Navy, and was the carrier used for filming. The CGI shots of the damaged and later sinking carrier correctly show the hull number 71 on the island, and 74 on the flight deck as it sinks; possibly since it was easy to remove the crossbar from a 4 to create a 1. Regardless of these issues, the carrier that is reported sinking is the Theodore Roosevelt.
- In the film novelization, this ship is identified as USS Lincoln and it is Megatron's transition form that sunk it.
